All smiles at Loughry
03 October 2009

Starting College or University can be quite daunting for students as they set out armed only with limited experience of independence and a new jotter! However, there was no such fear for Loughry’s freshers, who are geared up for dynamic and lucrative careers in our local food industry.

Understandably, there were the initial first day concerns about making new friends and getting lost in the campus. However, the team at Loughry pre-empted these fears and whether the students were from Cookstown or Kircubbin, they experienced an action-packed first week at the campus. Water traversing, table quizzes, a fresher’s ball and drop-in sessions with lecturers were planned to help introduce them to both their new college-mates and to ‘life at Loughry’. As the week came to a close, there was a definite air of exhaustion mixed with excitement about the term ahead.

Loughry Campus, College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) is still accepting applications onto some of their food related courses. For further information contact Campus Administration on Freephone 0800 0284291 or why not come along to our Sixth Form Open Evening on Tuesday 7 October 2008 at 7.00 pm.
