Horticulture students prepare for jobs
06 November 2008 The National Diploma in Horticulture students spent this week preparing for industry, with a residential visit to Loughry Campus where a large variety of practical skills were sampled, including planting winter bedding, tree planting and tree clearance. All the students stayed on campus and enjoyed student life at Loughry, meeting other students from different courses. “The skills we are learning this week are first class, we get a chance to try them all, and there’s plenty of variety” said Matthew Irwin who started the Full-time National Diploma in Horticulture in September 2008. “Since starting this course I have learnt a lot about plants and landscape maintenance, it’s just the type of practical course I wanted to do.”
