    Communication postgraduate students, Shaunagh Brolly and Lynn Shiels, have been recognised for their innovative approach to research, receiving the WD Morrow Award for the highest marks in their MSc projects.
  • Mother and Son share in their ‘Communicate’ success
    Majella Murphy and her son Eoin have much in common and now they can add “Communication qualifications” to the list. Majella has just graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Personal and Business Communication while Eoin graduated with an MSc in Communication in December 2008.

    As well as celebrating their graduation Loughry students are able to look forward to excellent employment success. Loughry graduates are highly sought after in the food industry and a number of our final year students had even secured jobs before their graduation.
  • Jamie flies the flag at 2010 Ryder Cup
    Congratulations to Jamie McCune, Greenkeeper at Clandeboye Golf Club, who has been selected to work as part of the elite greenkeeping team at the Ryder Cup in October at Celtic Manor Resort, Wales. Jamie has just completed his first year of the Level 3 Advanced National Certificate (ANC) in Sports and Amenity Turf Management at CAFRE’s Greenmount campus

    Congratulations to Jamie Mathews (employed by Belfast City Council in the Parks Department), who has succcessfully completed his first year of the work-based Level 2 Diploma
  • Developing a career in horticulture – from caretaker to technical supervisor
    Thomas Simpson started working for the Parks Service of Ards Borough Council as a caretaker in 1982 and has moved through a series of jobs to his current post in the management team

    Loughry graduates Grainne Rafferty and Wendy Speer will have to clear some space on their mantelpieces! In additional to receiving the National Diploma and National Certificates respectively, both students scooped some silverware at the Campus’s recent Awards Day.

    Students commencing First Year Higher Education at Greenmount are being invited to compete for a number of scholarships. This year there are 11 bursaries on offer, each to the value £1,000.
