Floristry students' creative support for Women's Aid
11 June 2010

Floristry students from CAFRE’s Greenmount Campus were delighted to assist leading European designer Richard Haslam with his demonstrations at Garden Show Ireland, Hillsborough Castle. Richard is a winner of Gold Medals from the Chelsea Flower Show and holds both the National Diploma Society Floristry (NDSF) and the American Institute of Floristry Designers (AIFD) qualifications. Between demonstrations the students created table centres and wedding accessories for display on the CAFRE stand.

As part of their demonstrations, CAFRE students regularly organize events to raise money for local charities. This year floristry student Theresa McGreevy (Belfast), was delighted to present some of the designs made at Hillsborough to Janet Millar of Women’s Aid (Cookstown and Dungannon) for the organisation’s White Ribbon Charity Ball that weekend.
