Greenkeeping Cadets at Greenmount

CAFRE, in partnership with the Ulster branch of the Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI),  launched the new Greenkeeping Cadetship programme in September 2009. The programme is for young people (age 16-25) with a keen interest in developing a career in green keeping. The GUI are supporting two cadetships this year with a generous financial bursary of £7500 each for the year.  Cadetships were awarded this year to Adrian McCullough, Kilkeel and Chris Watt, Lurgan.  Both are currently progressing through the level 2 Diploma in Greenkeeping, taking  classes two days per week and undertaking practical instruction for three days per week performing practical duties and assessments on the grounds and sports turf areas on campus.
