Students spending two or three years at CAFRE need opportunities to relax and mix socially. Everyone is encouraged to develop their interpersonal skills through participating in and supporting the extracurricular activities at the Campus.
CAFRE caters for a variety of sporting and social interests and students benefit from the well-equipped grounds and specialist facilities that would be expected at a Campus which teaches amenity horticulture, green-keeping and equine studies. Each campus has Gaelic, Soccer and Rugby pitches while Greenmount campus features a 4-hole golf course and Enniskillen Campus has a wide range of equine facilities. Sports halls and fitness suites provide facilities for indoor sports and Loughry students have free access to the Mid-Ulster Sports Arena beside the campus. A wide range of Campus sports Clubs make good use of these facilities.
If you are not interested in the sporting side of Campus life, there are other more sedentary activities available including the Drama and Film Clubs, the Young Farmers Club and the Horticulture Club. The Students Council organizes a wealth of social events including the Campus Formals, quizzes, and discos. Students at each campus also have access to theatres in nearby towns; the impressive Ardhowen Theatre in Enniskillen, Clotworthy House in Antrim and the Burnavon Arts Centre and Theatre in Cookstown host a wide range of cultural activities. Together with local multi-screen cinema complexes, there is entertainment and enjoyment for all.
