Greenmount Campus Awards Day 2010

CAFRE students at Greenmount Campus celebrate their Awards Day in June 2010. The photographs below show a selection of prize winners along with others who attended the event.

Greenmount top class students
John Fay, (Director, CAFRE) congratulates Alastair Scott (Randalstown) and Heather Cromie (Banbridge) on achieving highest marks on their land-based courses.
Alastair graduated with a Foundation Degree in Rural and Countryside Management at Pass with Distinction level and collected the award for highest overall marks.
Heather graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Agriculture and received the Northern Ireland Grain Trade Association Perpetual Cup.

Tony’s growing success through part-time study
John Fay (Director, CAFRE) and Claire Woods (Senior Lecturer, CAFRE) congratulate Tony Wiseman (Holywood) on achieving a Foundation Degree in Horticulture, at Distinction level. Tony completed the programme through part-time study and was awarded The Alpine Garden Plant Society Prize for best Plantsperson and the Institute of Horticulture Prize for top part-time student.
Success for cousins at CAFRE!
Cousins Melissa Anderson (Kesh), Rachel Gibson (Irvinestown), Robert Kinnear (Ballinamallard) and Mark Gibson (Irvinestown) all graduated from Greenmount Campus.
Melissa completed a National Diploma in Horticulture, Rachel won the Victoria Rose Bowl for Floristry, Robert graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Agriculture and Mark completed a National Diploma in Land-based Technology.
Ulster Farmers’ Union Prize
Alan Lockhart (Newry) is congratulated by the Guest Speaker, John Thompson (President, Ulster Farmers’ Union) and Ian Titterington (Deputy Director, CAFRE) at the Greenmount Awards Day.
Alan graduated with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Agricultural Technology and was awarded the Ulster Farmers’ Union Prize.
Engineering projects rewarded
CAFRE lecturer William Richmond congratulates Jonathan Calderwood (Portglenone) on being presented with the Robert Canning Prize for Workshop Projects at the Awards Ceremony at Greenmount Campus where he graduated with a National Diploma in Land-based Technology.
Floristry students celebrate blooming success
National Certificate in Floristry students celebrated the completion of their programme at the Awards Day at Greenmount Campus. The ladies all adorned beautiful personally created displays on the day and added a touch of colour to the ceremony.
Foundations planted at Greenmount
Foundation Degree in Horticulture graduates Adam Harris (Cullybackey), James Cuffey (Crossgar) and David Archibald (Coleraine) were delighted to welcome Journalist and Television Broadcaster Peter Seabrook Esq. MBE to their graduation ceremony at Greenmount Campus, Antrim.
Higher National Diploma graduate success
Eleven students graduated from Greenmount Campus, Antrim with Higher National Diplomas in Agriculture. Featured are nine of the group who now have the skills and qualities to enter the industry or continue in education to the BSc (Hons) Degree course. Well done to all!

Charlotte Kennedy (Broughshane) celebrates her graduation from Greenmount Campus with Kenneth Johnston (Senior Lecturer, CAFRE). Charlotte completed a National Diploma in Agriculture and received the United Dairy Farmers Award for milk production.

John Hamilton (Cushendun) is congratulated on his graduation by Kenneth Johnston (Senior Lecturer, CAFRE). John completed a National Diploma in Agriculture and was awarded the National Beef Association Cup for beef production.
Neil has designs on success
Neil Bradley (Draperstown) is congratulated by Ian Titterington (Deputy Director, CAFRE) at the Greenmount Awards Day.
Neil graduated with a National Diploma in Horticulture and was also a winner at the Northern Ireland heat of the UK Skills Landscape Gardening competition.
