Mr Michael M^cAree, Trading Director, W&R Barnett Ltd presented the awards at CAFRE’s 2008 Greenmount Campus Awards Ceremony.

In total 390 students graduated across a range of courses in agriculture, agricultural engineering, horticulture, floristry, conservation and environment at varying levels from NVQ Level 2 to Degree level.

Mr John Fay, CAFRE Director congratulated all the students on their successes.  “Our industry continues to need well educated people equipped with the knowledge and skills at all levels to allow it to grow and flourish.  I believe that there will continue to be significant career opportunities within the land based sector and that Greenmount is ideally placed to provide the appropriate foundation for those willing to seize such opportunity”

At the ceremony, Mr David Kirk, Greenmount Student’s Council Representative also presented a cheque for £2530 to the Antrim Branch of Macmillan Cancer Support.  This excellent amount was raised by Greenmount students during the year through various fundraising activities at the Campus.
