Aim
The aim of this course is to train people working in the equine industry in the skills associated with turnout of the horse for the show or sales ring.
Target audience
Horse owners and trainers, with an interest in the turnout of horses for the show/ sales ring.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be 16 years of age or over and have experience in working with horses.
Course structure
This course lasts 2 days. It is a very practical course and includes demonstrations, theory and practical hands on for students.
Course content
The course will cover the following topics:
- Handling and leading techniques
- Nutrition and coat condition
- Grooming equipment
- Clipping/Trimming techniques
- Sales/Show day preparation
Cost
This course is free to equine breeders whose business is located within Northern Ireland. However a refundable deposit of £30 is required to book a place on this course. Applicants from Great Britain or Republic of Ireland must pay the full course fee of £60 in order to book a place on the course, which is non-refundable.
