Overview

The course deals with an overview of computer components with basic file management. Farmers are introduced to the internet, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to explore what the Internet can do for them to help manage the business.

Course Content

  • Understanding the basics of computer Hardware and Software.
  • File Management.
  • Explaining the different ways of getting online, and the security implications of being online.
  • Browsing the Internet using an browser, completing basic online forms, downloading documents from the web and understanding the composition of a website address.
  • Constructing effective search strategies for a variety of Internet search services and use advanced searching techniques.
  • Using HM Revenue & Customs Online services, including VAT Online
  • Exploring online tools available on the Ruralni website and understand how to use them.
  • Using the Internet for research, and saving useful sites in favourites list.
  • Incorporating E-business into the Agricultural business as a buyer and seller.
