CROPS

CROPS is a student centred learning project within the Higher Education  in Agriculture courses at  Greenmount campus. The project is optional and is usually studied by students  on the Higher National Diploma  and  Agricultural Technology Degree courses, with a particular interest in Crop production( other options  include CREAM and  UPLANDS)

The project aims to develop student competencies in crop production,crop husbandry skills,enterprise policy development , and the evaluation of new technologies applicable to crop production and in addition to :

  • Demonstrate the efficient growing and management of crops on the campus farm
  • Assess the physical and finiancial performance of common crops
  • Demonstrate “ best commercial practice” and application of best available technology  in all aspects of  arable production.
  • Improve students ability to work as part of a team and develop leadership skills
