CAFRE Trail at Enniskillen Campus

The CAFRE Trail at Enniskillen Campus and Necarne Estate, Irvinestown was established  with the primary aim of giving a better understanding of the countryside to schoolchildren, receiving almost 2,000 visitors in 2005.

Specialist guides deliver tours and group activities using fun and practical methods.  Groups can enjoy the beauty of the countryside while learning about farmland habitats, their associated wildlife and the role of the farmer in caring for the environment.

Some of the more popular features; include investigating woodland habitats, pond dipping, viewing grazing livestock and the function of mini beasts.

Programmes are specially developed for Keystages 1 and 2 and are led by RSPB field teachers.
