Centenary Show
The Centenary Show which was the highlight of our centenary celebrations took place on 16 and 17 June at Greenmount Campus. It was very well supported with approximately 20,000 turning out for what proved a very successful weekend.
The weather held up helping to add to the atmosphere of a great show. We have received extremely positive feedback, particularly about the range of attractions which were on offer and certainly there were many smiling faces to be seen over the weekend.
To celebrate 100 years of Greenmount there was a very comprehensive range of photographs and memorabilia on display in the Victor Woods room in the Farm Courtyard which was a real favourite – especially for those past students and staff who spent time reminiscing and searching for themselves in the photographs.
Many availed of the farm tours, and there was great interest in the threshing demonstrations – using the thresher which was once owned by Greenmount.
The old favourites were there too with vintage machinery, floristry and cookery demonstrations, archery, crafts, farm animals, children’s entertainment and the ever-popular plant sales and all with a musical backdrop provided by Laganvale, St Mark’s and Dungannon Silver Bands.
A fantastic show – it really was a celebration of Greenmount.
