The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) or library plays a vital role in supporting teaching, learning and development work at the Campuses. You will find not only books, but journals, newspapers, reports and a growing range of electronic services including CD-ROMs. The library is a major information resource and the aim of the library staff is to help you make the best use of the lending, reference and enquiry services.
There are introductory seminars for new students on all aspects of using the libraries and their resources. Throughout the year informal advice will be freely available from the qualified librarians. With increasing emphasis on student centred learning, the libraries with their adjacent computer suites are a focal point for students.

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is equipped with PCs, study booths, seminar rooms with a reading room providing a suitable area for private study. Our enquiry service provides help and support in preparing for assignments and projects. A computerised catalogue allows you to search for books and periodicals, renew your own loans and reserve items on loan to other readers.
The LRC is connected to JANET (Joint Academic Network) providing access to a vast range of data and services. The Inter-Library loan scheme offered through the British Library Service gives direct access to all the United Kingdom libraries. The LRC is progressive and up-to-date. The latest advances in information technology are used to support lectures and access to research information worldwide including a large number of online journal databases. The LRC subscribes to the MAFF online database (LIAISON) which provides up-to-date agrochemical and technical crop data. All computer workstations in the library are internet ready and have word processing, spreadsheet and database applications installed.
Via to the student Intranet site students have access to information such as timetables, course notes, tutorials and past examination papers.
A self-service photocopying facility is available at a modest cost.
