Computer Facilities

The Greenmount Resource Centre (GRC) offers four multi-media computer suites with over a hundred PCs.  All computers are internet equipped and in addition to Microsoft office professional they offer a number of bespoke programs required for different courses. Computers in the suites have a software system to allow interaction with the lecturer.

The Campus also provides high performance workstations with access to computer applications such as computer aided design (CAD) and geographical information systems (GIS).

All computer suites run an extensive range of business recording programs enabling students to gain access to the latest information on all campus enterprises.

Students are encouraged to develop their computer skills through Microsoft office self-learning tutorial packages provided.  Students are also encouraged to use Blackboard which is an excellent communication tool and learning resource.  

A wide range of back-up facilities both in terms of human resources and other IT equipment are available to teaching staff and students.  A full-time computer technician maintains all computer suites to ensure students can make the best use of the facilities.

Student Intranet

Students have their own site that they can automatically ‘log-on’ to called the Student Intranet.  This provides excellent up to date relevant information on timetables, course notes, tutorials and past examination papers

Greenmount encourages students to develop social skills and as well a teaching aid the student intranet is also used as a social calendar by the Student’s Council to post information to the students.
