The use of computers to complete coursework, or for personal use, is now a normal part of Campus life, whether you are asked to prepare reports using a word processor or need to use the Internet to research a particular topic. The Campus is very well equipped with an extensive range of computer facilities for students.
A number of high performance workstations are provided, giving access to a Word processing, Spreadsheets & Presentation software.
Video/data projectors are roof mounted in a number of the rooms as a teaching aid and there is also access to scanning facilities. All PCs have Internet access and as well as 'surfing the net', the Web provides valuable information sources for coursework, projects and company information.
A wide range of back-up facilities both in terms of human resources and other IT equipment are available to teaching staff and students.
A full-time computer technician maintains all the computer suites to ensure students can make best use of the facilities.
Student Intranet
Students have their own site that they can automatically ‘log-on’ to – “the Student Intranet”. This provides excellent up-to-date relevant information on upcoming social and sporting activities within the each Campus and the College.
“Blackboard Virtual Learning Environment” (VLE)
Students are encouraged to use the “Blackboard Virtual Learning Environment” (VLE) ; which is an excellent communication tool and learning resource.
